Technology is all well and good, but what about the human part?

We have raced to solve problems with technology, but were they really problems to begin with? Were we the right people to solve those problems? Are people willing to pay to solve these problems? I have built my appreciation for product management through trying to ask these questions, of myself, of the people I work with and of the teams I work on.

I believe we should question whether technology is the right solution

I believe we have a responsibility as technologists to consider the impact to people and society

I believe we should harness technology to do repetetive low value tasks so that humans can spend their time solving harder problems and being with other humans

My product experience

  • I started my career in banking, working in the branches with individuals and then with businesses. This led to me working to solve problems for bankers and customers alike. Understanding the challenges that small businesses and corporates face every day and then coming up with digital and financial products to solve those problems.

  • The world moves fast and if you don’t keep up with it you’ll be left behind. I have experience born in the cloud B2B and B2C products and legacy products rapidly trying to catch up, they both have hard product problems and have contributed so much to my appreciation of what it means to be a great product manager

  • Let’s face it, most big enterprise software SUCKS. But the next generations joining the workforce appreciate a good user experience and building software and operational experiences is such an important part of your own customer/employee retention journey
